Early reversed copy of the so called: 'Landscape with farm on the left'. Here in fact the farm is on the right. A farman on the right followed by a dog is walking on the path leading to the city throught the fields. The city is visible on the left with a church. Signed on the bottom right: 'E. 't Gerecht buyten Haerlem.

Composition in reverse in respect to the original by van de Velde. The plate represents the gallows just outside Haarlem, with a dead man hanging. Some peaceful cattle wonders around and a farmer walks on the path with his dog. Titled in the middle of the sky: ''t Gerecht buyten Haerlem' (Het gerecht buiten Haarlem); numbered in the bottom right corner: '7'. Etching on paper, mounted on laid paper with watermark (two towers), in passepartout; plate mark: 81 x 166 mm, total: 95 x 178 mm; some foxing on the external margins; Hollstein 26 (copy); Bu. 44g; Keyes A13.
